A modified 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six produces 600 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque using twin 56mm Garrett turbochargers and roughly 30 PSI of boost. Power goes through an 8-speed transmission and standard all-wheel drive, while a dedicated steering-wheel button can instantly switch the car into rear-wheel-drive mode. Dodge claims 0-60 MPH in 3.6 seconds and a roughly 11.8-second quarter mile, backed by massive 305-width Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, 20x11-inch wheels and 16-inch brake rotors with SRT-branded Brembo calipers. The upgrades also include stiffer suspension and bushings, adaptive damping, 10% stronger half shafts, line lock and torque reserve for building boost before launch. Pricing and availability haven't been announced, but a regular 550-HP Scat Pack costs around $55,000, meaning this limited-production version will cost more - and despite all the extra performance, the one thing enthusiasts still aren't getting is a V8.

Toyota’s new kart: Toyota’s motorsports brand GAZOO Racing (GR) has launched the GR KART, an entry-level racing go-kart designed to make motorsport more accessible to children and families. The kart went on sale in Japan on September 10, 2026, at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of ¥385,000 (approx ₹2.3 lakh), including consumption tax. It is designed exclusively for closed-course driving and competition. Under ¥4 lakh: The GR KART is aimed at people who want to start karting but may find the cost of buying, transporting, storing and maintaining a racing kart difficult. Toyota says the new model combines a relatively accessible price with features intended to reduce ownership and maintenance requirements, allowing beginners to start and continue karting with fewer practical hurdles. Fits in a minivan: The kart measures 1,820 mm in length, 1,160 mm in width and 670 mm in height, with a 1,045 mm wheelbase. It weighs 83 kg and has a 215cc engine. Its dimensions allow it to be transported without disassembly in Toyota’s Noah or Voxy minivans. It can also be stored upright without draining the petrol or engine oil. Stores upright: Toyota has used an engine-oil catch tank, a diaphragm-type carburettor without a float chamber and a specific fuel-filler orientation to enable upright storage. These features allow the kart to remain upright with fuel and engine oil inside while helping reduce the possibility of leaks. The carburettor is also designed to reduce the effect of fuel-level changes caused by lateral g-forces. One kart, family: The driving position can be adjusted using sliding pedals and a tilting steering wheel, both operated with one-touch mechanisms. The setup accommodates drivers between 135 cm and 185 cm tall, allowing children and adults to use the same kart. For racing, a separate weight box can hold up to 15 kg of ballast and has a provision for fitting a transponder. Less maintenance: The GR KART uses a belt-drive system with an automatic tensioner, removing the need for periodic belt-tension adjustment. The engine also has a built-in self-charging battery, so owners do not need to install or separately charge another battery. A primer pump draws fuel into the carburettor before starting, reducing the preparation required before driving. Built to last: Toyota has fitted the kart with a rust-resistant stainless-steel rear axle shaft and internal metal fuel lines in the fuel tank to reduce deterioration caused by petrol. The GR KART is manufactured by the Gamagori GR KART Workshop in Aichi Prefecture. Toyota says the workshop applies Toyota Production System principles while working to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs. Safety features: The kart has a bumper designed to reduce the possibility of another kart riding onto its rear tyre during a collision. Rear hub stopper pins are intended to prevent the rear hub from coming loose. Toyota has also paid attention to the seat design, including an area for placing hands when getting in or out and a shape intended to shield hands from the hot muffler. Throttle safeguard: Toyota has also specified a particular method of securing the accelerator cable to help prevent the throttle from unintentionally remaining open. The company says these safety and durability measures are intended to make the kart easier for beginners to use. The GR KART has one seat and is designed for closed-course driving, rather than use on public roads. 43 locations: The GR KART is initially being sold through selected kart tracks and GR Garage locations in Japan, with further expansion planned. As of September 9, there were 36 participating kart-track locations and seven GR Garage locations. Toyota’s chairman Akio Toyoda, who races under the name Morizo, has previously expressed a desire to make motorsport more accessible, with karting serving as an entry point. App for drivers: Toyota is also supporting the kart through its dedicated GR app, which provides information and classroom-style learning content before driving. Users can register through the app and obtain and manage a driver passport. The passport can be used as proof of eligibility for sports driving at participating kart tracks, although some races require additional licences. However, the GR KART cannot be registered for public-road use or fitted with road-use number plates.

The story is that a young woman got the car around the time she received her driver’s license, but discovered that taking the city bus was cheaper than paying for gas, so the car ended up spending most of its life parked in a garage. It still has all five original tires, an amazingly preserved interior, original markings, dealer-installed air conditioning with its paperwork, and only minor paint touch-ups from decades of storage. The crew believes it may be the lowest-mileage 1968 example they could find records for and debates whether something this original belongs in a museum rather than being modified. After inspecting it closely, Richard decides to keep the remarkable time capsule.
